Tourism and UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We provide sustainable tourism solutions to all interested partners concerned with tourism in India. We have witnessed more than three decades of growth of the tourism sector in India and have come up with viable solutions for making tourism in India a more sustainable industry.

As the global tourism scenario is changing very fast and Sustainability has emerged as a major issue being faced by tourism worldwide, we have partnered with different organizations working in diverse sectors (environment, health, livelihoods, culture, human resources, and finance, etc.) to work collectively for bringing sustainability in the tourism sector in the country and beyond. As India is a growing economy and increasingly becoming popular as a cultural, adventure, spiritual, and wellness destination, we are creating effective projects and tie-ups at grassroots levels to bring positive changes in different segments of tourism in India. Due to the essentially international nature of the tourism industry, we invite both Indian as well as foreign counterparts to join us in our ongoing drive to excel through promoting activities leading to socially, economically, and environmentally sustainable tourism in India.

Why Sustainable Tourism?

Tourism is the largest employer in the world and many communities are heavily dependent on tourism for their socioeconomic survival. Many factors like Climate Change, Economic slowdown, wars and Global warming may affect tourism worldwide, so to maintain the growth and development of Tourism industry worldwide, we need to make it sustainable. Each of the stakeholders of the tourism industryis responsible for reducing negative impacts of Tourism and increasing the positive impacts of Tourism , then only we can achieve the goal of making tourism sustainable by 2031.

In future Sustainability is going to be the mostcrucial factor to remain in the competitive Market of International Tourism and companies going for sustainability will have an edge over their competitors. A large number of tourists in the future are likely to demand a sustainable travel package taking care of people and the planet. Local governments are also coming up with sustainability guidelines for different segments of tourism like Hotel, Car rental companies, Resorts and Tour-operators.
